SSHS Marketing first started in August 1993. The program has expanded to the point where over 70 students are enrolled in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year classes. The Student Store Laboratory benefits the program and school in a number of ways. Students receive on-hand training in marketing while earning elective credit, DECA competitions are funded, scholarships for the GCC college programs are awarded, the student population has a convenient place to pick meals, snacks, or spirit items, and the Student Body Association receives a substantial portion of its budget from store proceeds.
