High school marketing programs are currently offered at GCC, GW, JFK, SHS, and SSHS. To enroll in Marketing Education is not just to take another class. It is to become a part of one of Guam's biggest and most exciting programs. Since Marketing Education came to Guam over 25 years ago, thousands of students have graduated from the program and are now pursuing careers in sales, visual merchandising, advertising, store operations, and other areas. Many are now supervisors or managers in a business. Others now operate their own business.

While most graduates go directly into the work force from high school, over 50% continue their education. Many of those enrolled in the GCC college marketing program are there because of a love of marketing developed in a high school program. Others have studied at UOG or have gone off-island to places such as University of Hawaii, Marquette University, Johnson & Wales, and Babson University.

In Marketing, you will get the opportunity to study a variety of subjects, such as Marketing, Human Relations, Selling, Marketing Math, Visual Merchandising, and Student Store Lab. You will operate a student store, do the buying, promotion, create daily, weekly, and monthly plans, make your payments, make deposits, and all other activities involved in operating a small business.

It is not all work and no play. Marketing students join DECA, Guam's oldest and best known vocational student organization. See the Guam DECA page to read about all of the fun activities including luaus, off-island leadership conferences, and competitions.

Sound like something you will enjoy? One warning! There are no free rides! The Marketing instructors subscribe to the old axiom that "you get out of something what you put into it!" They will expect you to be in class every day, on time, and prepared to learn. In return, they will deliver a fast start on an exciting career, a lot of fun, and a good education.
