iSeries Application Development Tools (1 credit)

This class will enable applications developers to understand and be proficient in the various utilities that ae used to create files, screens, menus, etc., and others that allow the updating and extracting of information in these files.  Some of these utilities are PDM, SEU, SDA, UPDDTA, etc.  $185

AS/400 ILE  (1 credit)

This ILE Conversion Class must emphasize conversion issues and application structure design.  The focus of the class must be RPGLE module design, creation, maintenance strategies and activation group structure.  The student will learn the processes and methodology to be used to build robust ILE applications, and also V5 R1 RPGLE enhancements including ILE error handling.  $185

This course will cover the following:

*    Using Remote Systems Explorer

AS/400 Control Language Programming – iSeries (2 credits)

This class will enable the student to understand and be proficient with AS/400 Commands and the CL Language.  The student will use CL to control screens, menus, High Level Languages Programs, and repetitive operational tasks such as saves, messaging, system cleanup, etc.  $325

RPG IV Advanced Topics – iSeries (2 credits)

This course is designed to enhance the RPG IV and ILE skills learned in the RPG IV applications.   $325

High Voltage Cable Splicing  (20 hours)

This course will entail medium to high voltage cable splicing.  Training will focus on QT III Termination Kit, Modular Splicing Kit and Load Break Elbow.  Open to the first 30 students!  $700

CISCO Networking Academy (70 hours)

The CISCO Networking Academies program consists of four semesters.  The program is designed to teach students the skills needed to design, build, and maintain small to medium-sized networks.  This provides them with the opportunity to enter the workforce and/or further their education and training in the computer-networking field.

Basic Introduction to Networking  (40 hours)

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge needed to select, connect, and configure CISCO devices.  $700

FCC Preparation  (6 hours)

This course is designed to review the entire electronic program with special consideration shown to those areas of electronics that will be covered in the Federal Communication Commission amateur and commercial license examinations.  $400

Fiber Optic Installer  (45 hours)

Students in this course will learn how to splice, terminate and test fiber optic cables.  It is designed for personnel who work with fiber optic cables or those who want a working knowledge of fiber optics.  Students will be able to take the Electronics Technician’s Association’s Fiber Optics Installer Certification Test.   $900

Category 5 Wiring & Testing Certification  (30 hours)

This course is based on hands on training and understanding Cat. 5 systems applying TIA/EIA standards, techniques, and testing requirements.  $650

Beginning Spanish  (15 hours)

This course will introduce students to basic communication, grammar, vocabulary, with a focus on daily life topics.  Extensive practice through numerous and varied oral and written exercises set in a meaningful situational and personalized contexts.  Students are exposed to the geographic, ethnic, and cultural variety of the Spanish-speaking world.  The class uses textbooks that integrate reading, writing, vocabulary skills, and communication skills, all necessary for the first year students, to develop proficiency1 in the four language skills.  Written and reading assignments, oral quizzes and role play are requisites for successful completion of this course.

Certified Manager (CM) Program (3 credits)

This course is a professional training program by the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM).  This program develops and enhances general management skill and prepares individuals to take the CM management certification exams.  $1350  link here

 

Beginning Reading Instruction (3 GRADUATE CREDITS)

This course presents a synthesis of the growing research-based consensus for beginning reading instruction and broad range of instructional strategies based that represent classroom application of the research.  This class is offered in conjunction with the University of San Diego.  $255

 

Thinking Math 1 (3 GRADUATE CREDITS)

Thinking Mathematics 1 presents the foundational research on how students learn mathematics and practical teaching strategies/methods to teach and develop critical math skills.  This class is offered in conjunction with the University of San Diego.  $255

 

Reading Comprehension & Reciprocal Teaching (3 GRADUATE CREDITS)

This course will offer teachers strategies that they can use with their students to improve reading comprehension.  Based on research these two modules (Reading Comprehension Instruction and Reciprocal Teaching) will assist teachers in their practice of reading instruction.  Teachers will be expected to apply what they learn in their classrooms and keep a journal of their experiences.  This course will enhance the use of their new McGraw-Hill reading series as well.  This class is offered in conjunction with the University of San Diego.  $255

 

Vocational Methods I (3 GRADUATE CREDITS)

This course will assist the prospective and practicing teacher in developing and implementing vocational curriculum and teaching methods in the classroom.  This class is offered in conjunction with the University of Guam.  $350

Vocational Methods 2 (3 GRADUATE CREDITS)

This course is an extension of Vocational Methods I and provides students an opportunity to strengthen their skills in vocational/technical curriculum development and instructional techniques.  Students also prepare and utilize materials and techniques that support students with disabilities in the classroom.   This class is offered in conjunction with the University of Guam.  $350

 

Project Approach  (3 GRADUATE CREDITS)

This approach is based on students’ interests; the teacher takes the role of a facilitator, assisting the students as they develop their projects.  Participants will be expected to implement this approach in their classrooms.  Participants will also learn developmentally appropriate practices in the young school age child.   This class is offered in conjunction with the University of Guam.  $375

 

Foundations of Effective Teaching (3 GRADUATE CREDITS)

The course will focus on what research shows about effective teacher’s strategies and behaviors.  It will provide participants with the opportunity to evaluate their own effectiveness and learn methods for improving their effectiveness.  This class is offered in conjunction with the University of San Diego.  $255

History of Guam (3 GRADUATE CREDITS)

The general purpose of the broad sweep of Guam’s history, from the pre-Magellan period through the Spanish regime, the early American period under the Naval Government, the Japanese occupation and return of the Naval Government, to the institution of the island’s present civilian government and the on-going struggle for political self-determination.  No prior knowledge or study of Guam is assumed for enrolled students.  Satisfactory completion of this course will meet the History of Guam portion of the teacher certification requirements of the Guam Department of Education.  This class is offered in conjunction with the University of San Diego.  $545

Introduction to Bas Relief Sculpture (1 GRADUATE CREDIT)

Bas (bah) Relief is low relief carving.  This course provides for hand-on experience using the subtractive sculptural method, drawing techniques for sculpture, and an overview of various sculpting materials and tools.  This class is offered in conjunction with the University of San Diego.  $149

Introduction to Silk Painting (1 GRADUATE CREDIT)

A painterly approach to silk painting.  Students will be exposed to a short history of silk painting and a comparison to batik and watercolor techniques.  This class is offered in conjunction with the University of San Diego.  $149

 

Introduction to Mask Making Using Fiberous Plaster (1 GRADUATE CREDIT)

A sculptural experience, Mask making with fiberous plaster allows students to practice mold making and additive sculpture techniques.  This class is offered in conjunction with the University of San Diego.  $149

 

Certified Bookkeeper Review (2 CREDITS)

A detailed study and review structured to prepare students to pass the national test for Certified Bookkeeper given by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers.  This course covers specific topics such as adjusting entries, reconciliation and errors, payroll, depreciation and inventory.  A certificate is award upon completion of the U.S. National Examination and 3,000 hours of accounting-related work experience.  $450

 

How to Use Quick Books Software (1 CREDIT)

This course covers small business accounting using Quick Books Software.  Topics include creating a chart of accounts, recording customer and vendor transactions, processing payroll, and printing reports.  $100
