GCC Now An Official

Microsoft IT Academy

Guam Community College is now an official Microsoft IT Academy and the first entity in Micronesia to become an authorized training and testing center for Microsoft Office 2007.

What this means for professionals on Guam and in the region is that they can now be certified on island in any or all of these five Microsoft sections: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint; and their certification is good worldwide!

Microsoft IT Academy classes will be offered starting in Fall Semester 2010 in three-day, 24- hour sessions. The cost for each section is $695 and includes a pretest to determine competency, a class book and a certification exam on the final day.

GCC instructor Elaine Casimiro Fejerang has been issued her Microsoft Certified Trainers’ license, designating her a Microsoft technical and instructional expert. “As an MCT, I am provided with tools, resources, and other benefits to teach and support blended learning solutions for Microsoft users,” said Fejerang, who has been an instructor at GCC for over ten years.

Microsoft IT Academy class size will be limited to 12 students per section.
