Financial assistance is available for students at Guam Community College. Types of financial assistance available include Pell Grants, privately funded scholarships and loans, and Veterans' Benefit Programs.

Federal Financial Aid
Federal Financial Aid forms are available at the Financial Aid office. You may fill out the application form and mail it in for processing or visit the Federal web page at www.fafsa.ed.gov and apply on-line. You will be notified in six weeks regarding your eligibility or in three weeks by Internet. 

PELL Grant
Eligible students can receive an award of up to $3000 for the 2000 - 2001 school year. 

Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
Students with exceptional need can receive up to $300 per year. Pell and SEOG grants don't have to be paid back. 

Federal Work Study
This program provides jobs for undergraduate students. FWS gives you a chance to earn money to help cover your education expenses. The program encourages community service work. The amount you earn depends on the number of hours that you work.

In general, a student may be eligible for assistance if: 
Student demonstrates financial need 
Student maintains satisfactory progress toward declared program of study 
Student is admitted as a Declared Student 
Student is a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen 
Student, as required by Federal Law, attests to his/her Selective Service status
In order to receive any form of assistance, the student must comply with the following list of requirements: 
Complete all necessary forms and documents on or before the established deadlines 
Be admitted as a DECLARED STUDENT and have a declared program of study 
Enroll in courses required by the program of study 
Maintain academic SATISFACTORY PROGRESS 
Inform the Financial Aid Office of any changes that might affect the financial assistance of educational benefit received 
Comply with all other policies established by the Financial Aid Office
Students who fail to comply with the requirements listed above may jeopardize their assistance and/or educational benefits. 

Merit-based Scholarships
Many community organizations offer scholarships to GCC Students. Most of these are merit based, which means you must have 2.5 - 3.0 grade point average to be eligible. Some of the scholarships that are available each year are listed below: 

Bill Muna Foundation: one $500 scholarships available to Guam Community College students pursuing an associate degree or certificate. Must have a GPA of 2.5. Click here for application criteria

JTB Global Foundation: three $500 scholarships are available to full-time Guam Community College students with at GPA of 2.25 who are pursuing an associate degree in tourism and are taking a Japanese language class. Click here for application criteria.

Kapingimarangi-Nukuoro Association: two $250 scholarships available to Guam Community College students pursuing a degree or an adult high school diploma. Must have a GPA of 2.25. 

Rotary Club of Guam: one $500 scholarship available to Guam Community College students with a GPA of 2.75 who are pursuing degrees in computer science, tourism or business. 

Rotary Club of Northern Guam (Hank & Erma Buffet): two $250 scholarships available to Guam Community College students with a GPA of 2.25 who are pursing a degree in business or a related area. Click here for application criteria

Charles W. Spero & Teresita T. Perez Memorial Scholarships - six $500 scholarships available to student pursuing a degree or certificate at Guam Community College and enrolled at least half-time. Student must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.50 from either GCC or from last high school attended. Click here for application criteria

Thiyagarajah Wignarajah Memorial: one $600 scholarship to Guam Community College students with a GPA of 2.8 who are pursuing an electrical or electronic engineering degree. Click here for application criteria.
